New healthy fast food conceptLife Box AB in Malmö, Sweden, has developed a new healthy fast food concept. Life Box is a complete healthy meal with everything from a starter, a drink, a fruit and a main course for lunch, combined with a health concern. Nutritional expertise and culinary professionals work together, and the health qualities are safeguarded by medical competence. The product, which stems from the need of healthy eating combined with less time used by employees for the lunchbreak, is currently supplied on a test basis to selected companies in the Malmö area. 12 weeks into the test period with the companies, there are some interesting results to announce. In general, the blood and cholesterol values have improved among persons participating in the test. A weigh reduction is documented and the waist size has decreased among the test persons. “The test shows that the idea of healthy fast food eating works”, says Susanne Thorén, founder of Life Box. “We plan for individually adapted Life Box meal solutions in 2006. The individually adapted meals make it possible for a consumer to get a meal that is adapted to his or her nutritional personal needs. The potential market for the Life box koncept is huge. Some companies have moved several steps in a healthy direction in order to create a good working life for their employees. In this process, Life Box has a role to play. Our goal is initially to distribute Life Box in the Malmö and Copenhagen regions, and then we foresee a launch of the concept in Gothenburg, Stockholm, the Nordic market and finally Europe. We have patents for our concept covering Europe”, says Erika Braun, information manager at Life Box.
