Farre goes for organic meats market at TESCO and Ökoland

Farre A/S, a small Danish speciality producer of sliced cold meat, now looks forward to expanding the business further. Farre A/S is a family run business established in 1920. Since 1986 Farre focuses on organic products. The following years the demand for organic products fluctuated, but Farre maintained its idea of using organic products and ban nitrite, artificial flavourings and colouring, and phosphates.  

Today Farre holds almost half the Danish market for organic sliced cold meat.
“At present we are experiencing yearly increases of around 30%,” says Henry Franzén, sales manager at Farre, to the Danish newspaper Børsen. “From the beginning we have approached the entire retail sector aggressively. We had to if we wanted to win market shares,” he continues.

Later this year Farre launches a brand new sliced salami-range in the British supermarket chain TESCO and Farre has also entered into an agreement with Germany’s largest organic sliced meat wholesaler, Ökoland.
