Unilever depot creates 50 jobs in SkåneFrode Laursen, the Danish logistics company, has chosen the southern Swedish town of Åstorp as the site for a new Scandinavian warehouse for Anglo-Dutch consumer giant Unilever. The Danish company distributes Unilever products around the region and is to build a 35,000m² facility that will create 50 jobs in Åstorp, 20 kilometers east of Helsingborg. Anders Balle, Frode Laursen chief financial officer, said the company had considered various locations but Åstorp proved the optimal location. “The site is very well situated strategically. It’s close to the E4 motorway and not far from the E6 motorway either,” he said. Balle added that Åstorp municipal council had played an active role in promoting the investment and that the site offered considerable potential for expansion. Building work on the depot will start soon and the premises are scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2006. Source: www.isa.se
