Sweet Success teams up with NutriTech International

Sweet Success Enterprises has formed a strategic alliance with NutriTech International, the maker of a key ingredient in many of Sweet Success' products.

Sweden-based NutriTech is the maker of Aktivated Barley, which is found in Sweet Success' products today. The new deal will increase the use of Aktivated Barley in Sweet Succes' coming health products.

NutriTech International's Aktivated Barley was launched in 2003 and is manufactured through a patented process that increases the beta-glucan content by 94 percent, according to research done at AnalyCen, an accredited laboratory in Europe. The benefits of beta-glucans are said to include energy/glucose control, cholesterol control and immune boosting capabilities.

In December of 2005, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved an amendment that added barley as a source of beta glucans that, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, can help to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
