Absolut Sale!The world largest spirit brands and investors all keep an eye on the Swedish liquor producers at the moment. The news that many have waited for is now out; the Swedish success story Absolut Vodka will be up for sale. Financial Times estimates that Vin & Sprit AB (the owner of the Absolut Company) is worth about 4,3 Billion Euro. Absolut Vodka is today the world’s third largest spirit brand, passed only by Smirnoff and Bacardi. The brand conquers new markets fast and the Absolut brand is today on of the most well known Swedish brands outside of Sweden. “Absolut is the market leader in China within the premium vodka segment, you will find Absolut in all the trendy bars in the Shanghai area” says Jacob Broberg, head of information, at Absolut. The big questions now are “Who?” and “How much?” There are a lot of prospective buyers like Pernod Ricard, Anheuser Busch, Brown-Forman, Constellation Brands, Beam Global Spirits, Bacardi and Fortune Brands to mention a couple of them.
