Focus on environmentally friendly farming and animal welfare

Governments and farmers in both Sweden and in Denmark strongly promote
environmentally friendly farming and animal welfare. This is backed up
through numerous programmes and objectives. The use of antibiotics for
livestock production has been banned in both countries except via
prescription. The use of pesticides is also relatively low.
